EARL SCRUGGS, THE GREATEST 5-STRING BANJO PICKER OF ALL TIME.

If you walk just a few yards directly behind Mr. Acuff's grave you will come to the impressive monument that marks the final resting place of Earl and Louise Scruggs. For over 25-years Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boy were one of the Most popular acts in Bluegrass Music. They sold a whole lot of biscuits for Martha White and the Martha White Theme Song along with the Foggy Mountain Breakdown were the groups most requested songs. They group also appeared on the Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction, and played the opening and closing theme songs for both shows. A few weeks back I visited the Grave of Lester Flatt in Sparta, Tennessee. Here is a link to that video; • LESTER FLATT - THE TOMBSTONE TOURIST I also visited the grave of Uncle Josh Grave who played dobro for both the Foggy Mountain Boys and the Earl Scruggs Review. Here is a link to that video. • JEAN SHEPARD/LUTHER PERKINS/FERLIN HUSKY -...
