Ryan and Steven Return Home From the Playground to Find Vicky and Grant

Vicky and Grant surprise Bridget by leaving work to come to Vicky's house and tell Steven that they are engaged. It's a surprise to Bridget because Steven isn't home--he's at the playground with Ryan. Ryan had the day off and had promised to visit Steven, and he never lets Steven down. Bridget didn't think Vicky would ever worry about it because Vicky knows how much Steven loves Ryan, and how inseparable they are. Bridget remarks that these modern relationships are difficult at times, and especially confusing for children. When Victoria grew up, she didn't even have a father, but Steven will have so many, Bridget wonders how he'll keep track. Bridget excuses herself, and Vicky and Grant agree that they're fine and this isn't awkward...but then Grant asks Vicky if she thinks she can handle Ryan in their lives. Ryan and Steven return from the playground then, all charged up about playing soccer since they had so much fun doing it, and Ryan is telling Steven that they can play soccer whenever Steven wants when Ryan notices Grant and Vicky sitting on the couch and trails off into silence.
