This video was first published on my JustaWhisperingGuy channel back in September 2013. The first wave of ASMR content was unintentional ASMR. Videos that were captured in real live that has just the right vibe to scratch that itch in your brain. Then came the whisper community. People that started making the first intentional ASMR content. After that came the role plays and more thought out/produced content. The first popular role plays took inspiration from unintentional content like Pat LaFontaine’s cranial nerve examination. In fact, cranial nerve exams eventually became something of a rite of passage among ASMRtists. Here’s mine. Hope you enjoy 😊 ——- Hey, guys. It’s Robert. Back in 2012, I stated an ASMR channel called JustAWhisperingGuy. I made whispered, soft-spoken, and roleplay ASMR videos for years. Eventually, after I obtained my doctorate in clinical psychology, I wanted to pivot toward making content that was more aligned with my work. That’s when I changed the name of the channel to Duff the Psych and started making more mental health and psychology content. However, over time, this has given the YouTube algorithm a very hard time understanding what it is I actually do. So, while that channel still has a lot of subscribers, I have removed all of the old ASMR and relaxation videos so that the Duff the Psych channel can be exclusively for psychology and mental health content. This new channel is where I will be re-uploading all of my classic JustAWhisperingGuy videos. I hope you enjoy them all over again. And perhaps I’ll be back with a new ASMR video at some point?
