Aconcagua, with its imposing 6,962 meters high, stands as the highest mountain in the American continent, located in the majestic Andes mountain range, in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, on the border with Chile. When we are starting to go out into the mountains, the big peaks always call our attention, sometimes we see them as very distant projects or, on the contrary, we want to start climbing them as soon as possible. It is important to start small and learn from mistakes in a more controlled environment where we can correct without much risk, and above all that we are enjoying it despite the difficulty. The preparation to climb Aconcagua is not just about being a high-performance athlete, but starting from the most fundamental: enjoying nature, loving the mountains and living all the experiences that this entails. It is crucial to start by climbing lower mountains, trekking during the day and gradually working your way up into mountains higher than 3,000 meters, as this will teach us how our bodies feel at high altitudes. As we gain experience, we will equip ourselves with the necessary mountain equipment. Within Aconcagua there are different types of trekking, beyond reaching its summit. A simple and suitable option to enjoy with the family is to walk the path of the Horcones lagoon. The day trek to Confluencia is also an excellent option, although it is important to exercise regularly to enjoy it to the fullest. The short trek to Plaza Francia allows us to spend the night in Confluencia and, the next day, contemplate the imposing South Wall of Aconcagua. On the other hand, the long trekking takes us to Plaza de Mulas, the Aconcagua base camp, located at 4,300 meters above sea level, where we will understand the inner workings of the park. Remember to enjoy the mountain and prepare properly to fulfill this dream and face this challenge. 00:00 Physical preparation to climb Aconcagua 04:10 Types of Trekking in Aconcagua 05:24 Trekking Horcones lagoon trail 05:38 Trekking for the day, Confluencia, Aconcagua 05:48 Short Trekking Aconcagua, Plaza Francia, Aconcagua south wall 06:02 Long Trekking Aconcagua, Plaza de Mulas, Aconcagua -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to prepare physically to climb Aconcagua: Plan your adventure, Fall in love with the mountain, Get active during the week, Find a group of mountaineers, Stairs to the top, Learn to deal with the cold and snow, It is not necessary to be an elite athlete, Know your body and adapt to the altitude, Aconcagua does not require technical climbing skills, Prepare yourself physically and familiarize yourself with your equipment, Enjoy the learning process on the mountain, Broaden your perspective and travel to other mountains, climb aconcagua, aconcagua climb.
