Cable Logging on a small scale
Using a smal scale skyline setup to haul firewood up a slope past tree stumps, brush and boulders. This setup freed up the pulling power of the winch to be used for the load rather than plowing through the ground and tree debris. We added some extra weight to the carriage so it would travel downhill instead of the pull rope being lowered. The time setting this up was worth it and saved us both energy and frustration. Span 18m, heaviest load approximately 250 kg.
