National Anthem of the First French Empire: Le chant du départ

It was the official anthem of the First Empire. It is also the regional anthem of French Guiana. FRANÇAIS: Le Chant du départ est un chant révolutionnaire, écrit en 1794 par Étienne Nicolas Méhul pour la musique et Marie-Joseph Chénier pour les paroles. Cet hymne, a été exécuté pour la première fois le 26 juin 1794 après la bataille de Fleurus afin de célébrer la victoire des armées de la République. Ce fut l'hymne national du Premier Empire français.
