🇦🇺 Getting into Trad Climbing on baby steps - Mount Piddington

I decided I wanted to get more into trad climbing this year, and there's no better way to do it than visiting Mount Piddington, at Mt Victoria, Blue Mountains. First thing I did was watch some of my friends climb and place the gear. They introduced me to the different kinds of gears they had, like cams, nuts and slings. Then I climbed an easy route on top rope, seconding S.S.C.C.1 (14) (as you can see at 01:30), while cleaning the route after Anthony. Removing the gear helps to better understand where and how it's placed. But I guess only practice will really make a difference. Later, I wasn't sure if I should lead something easy or not... I decided it was too soon (or too scared), so I decided to pink point Eternity (18), one the classics at the this crag (at around 04:56). It helped me build trust on the gear that was placed by someone more experienced. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to climb something else, but next time, my goal is to lead something easy. Slowly I will climb more and more routes, raising the level of difficulty, and getting comfortable at falling on trad gear (if that's even possible!!). Special thanks to Rafael (Bloc Rafa's CEO) and Anthony for taking some time and patience to explain us some stuff and lend us the gear.
