【🇯🇵日本の車窓から】特急しなので中山道を駆け抜ける、初夏の旅【塩尻〜名古屋】

The "Shinano" is one of Japan's premier tilting limited express trains. With the recent unveiling of the new train models set to replace the current fleet, I decided to take a ride on the existing train while I still could. I traveled the two-hour route from Shiojiri Station—the starting point of the Chuo West Line—to Nagoya in a standard reserved seat (limited express fare: 2,730 yen). Shortly after leaving Shiojiri, the train enters the Kiso Valley, surrounded by the Kiso Mountains. Weaving through the post towns of the old Nakasendo Trail, the Shinano tilts its body as it steadily makes its way toward Nagoya. Along the way, the train stops at key tourist hubs in the Kiso region, such as Kiso-Fukushima and Nakatsugawa. The view of the Kiso River and "Nezame-no-toko" (Bed of Awakening) near Agematsu is fleeting but well worth seeing.
