So on a quick break when Nate and his dad were working on the 2332cc engine for EMPI's 2026 Engine Battle, Nate started poking around the lot for another project. Something that he could work on in the air conditioned shop at the JBugs warehouse. That is when this 1972 Super Beetle caught his attention. Sure, the paint is faded, and it has some rust spots, but it also had an engine, and a fairly clean and somewhat complete interior. So Nathan asked his dad, and the pair got the go ahead to get this car pulled from the pile and to let Nate loose on it. Nate (with a little help from his dad) had the car running by the end on the first day, and driving, albeit without brakes, by the end of the second day. After a week away at the Engine Battle, Nate got back to work and a couple of days later had this 1972 Super Beetle running, driving and stopping again.
