Quiet, Shirakawa-go alternative in Takayama, Hida no Sato

If you're in Takayama, why not check out Hida no Sato (Hida Folk Village), accessible by bus or on foot from the centre. With 30 traditional houses, there's so much to see! There were just a few visitors when we arrived in the morning (on a weekday), and almost no one by lunchtime! It offers great views, and even some traditional games activities.
