Today, the General Coordination of Naval Aeronautics is a technical and administrative body under the Naval Operations Command, whose purpose is to maintain the operational readiness of the institution's aircraft by managing logistical and technical support, ensuring air and naval security, and administering and training personnel, thus contributing to the fulfillment of the institution's mission and responsibilities. To this end, the institution has 69 fixed-wing aircraft (airplanes) and 46 rotary-wing aircraft (helicopters), deployed at 10 naval air bases and 22 squadrons located in the various Naval Regions and Zones throughout the country. This is supported by the teamwork of 2,247 personnel, including pilots, mechanics, electronics technicians, gunners, air operations personnel, and support staff.
