Binhi Ng Pag-Unlad! 10 Giant Bamboos Each Town To Address Forest Denudation Starting the last week of November, I will give out for free 10 Giant Bamboo planting materials and two EVIARC Sweet Jackfruit seedlings to every town and city all over the country. The Giant Bamboo planting materials and Abuyog Sweet Jackfruit seedlings will be turned over to the municipal or city agriculturist or the chairman of the Municipal Agriculture and Fisheries Council (MAFC). The only condition is that they will share the Bamboo propagules and the Jackfruit scions to farmers in their areas so that the program to regreen our country will be undertaken by people themselves rather than government agencies. This program, Binhi Ng Pag-Unlad, is my personal advocacy to contribute to the effort to make our mountains green again which hopefully will ensure that we will have enough water supply for Philippine Agriculture in the future. Ang mga planting materials ay ikakarga ko sa aking lumang Isuzu Elf at dadalhin ko sa isang designated distribution area on specific dates where the MAOs and the CAOs or MAFCs will be asked to pick up their shares. I may not be able to reach the remotest towns of the country which is why there will be a distribution schedule for each province. Ang planting materials ng Giant Bamboo na ibibigay ko would be about 20,000 good for about 2,000 hectares which 5 years from now could yield at least 200 propagules every year. That would mean planting materials of about 4-million which could cover at least 20,000-hectares every year. Each of the Jackfruit planting materials, on the other hand, could produce as much as 1,000 scions every year which in turn could be grafted into local rootstocks to expand the areas planted to the sweetest Langka in the country.
