How To Recharge Freon On A Chest Freezer

My parents gave me their chest freezer as they were not using it anymore, and it was working the last time they used it. We moved it 20 miles in my father's pickup and then it sat for another 3 months in my basement before we started using it. Somehow the freon had leaked out.
