The Loowit Trail // Circumnavigating Mount Saint Helens

The Loowit Trail circumnavigates Mount Saint Helens in Washington State. I was surprised I hadn't yet hiked this classic route so close to home, but I'm glad I finally did. One of the most unique trails I've hiked in the PNW, the Loowit crosses through old growth forest, lava flows, deep washouts, raging rivers, and of course--the desolate blast zone from the 1980 volcanic eruption.
