Kayak Expedition - East Greenland (Part 1)
The first of a 2 part film showing the first few days of our 2019 Kayak Expedition to East Greenland. Led by Martin Rickard, this trip started at Kuummiit and took in an exploration of the magnificent Sermilik Fjord. This cold and beautiful wilderness contains just a few human settlements. This year was apparently a low ice year which left Sermilik largely ice free and prone to the effects of the wind. We saw a lot of wildlife, particularly whales which were everywhere (except Sermilik for some reason, which was unusual). Paddling amongst the giant ice is truly a memorable experience. Spending time surrounded by these ice leviathans proves East Greenland to be a world class kayaking venue. Martin is the preeminent guide in this region so if you fancy the trip please consider contacting him at the link below.
