Jubileuszowa pielgrzymka Solidarności do Lichenia 2026

Thousands of members and supporters of the Solidarity Trade Union from across Poland traveled to the Marian Sanctuary in Licheń this weekend to participate in the Union's 25th anniversary Pilgrimage. The motto was "Missionary Disciples at Mary's." Archbishop Józef Kupny, Metropolitan of Wrocław, presided over the solemn Holy Mass on Sunday (April 26, 2026). In his homily, the Archbishop emphasized that this pilgrimage cannot be merely a remembrance of bygone days or a celebration of the union's achievements, but an examination of conscience – has Solidarity remained faithful to its spiritual origins? Is it still a community of consciences? Does it still defend humanity or only economics? Does it still stand for truth? After the liturgy, as every year, union members proceeded to the monument of Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko, where they sang the Polish National Anthem and laid wreaths.
