Unmasking the Scammer
A lavish wedding, a Cartier bracelet worth thousands of euros, extravagant travels, and dream shopping sprees—this is the life of Georgian scammers who rob Europeans and Canadians. For eight months, 32 journalists from different media outlets investigated the call center industry operating in Georgia. A source provided Sweden’s public broadcaster nearly two terabytes of leaked data from a Tbilisi-based call center. Sweden’s public broadcaster shared the material with OCCRP and international media. As a member of the OCCRP network, iFact joined the investigation this way. By analyzing the materials obtained by Swedish journalists, we exposed the scammers. #scam #scammer #georgia #europe #canada #money #crime #crimenews #cybercrime
