Genius Idea or Waste of Space? This Campervan Has Me Confused

The Sunlight Vanlife 540 is a compact campervan with a feature I've never seen before — integrated stairs leading up to a pop-top roof bed. But is it a genius idea or a complete waste of valuable space? I genuinely can't decide. In this honest campervan review, I take a full tour of the Sunlight Vanlife 540, built on the tried-and-tested Fiat Ducato chassis. At just 5.4 metres long, this small campervan packs in a surprising amount: a well-equipped kitchen, a full bathroom with a clever drop-down sink, Truma heating, a 64-litre fridge, and a deep wardrobe. But it's the staircase to the pop-top that makes this van truly unique — and divisive. I cover everything from the cab and driving position to the electrics, storage, and sleeping arrangements, before giving my honest verdict on whether this feature is genius design or wasted space. I also discuss the price — around £66,000 with the 321 pack (Scorpion S5 tracker, 190W solar panel, and 3-year habitation check) — and whether it represents value for money in the current UK campervan market.
