How to Make an Amish Knot Rug | Easy Rag Rug Tutorial

For the longest time, I wanted to make a rug from old fabric... I just had no idea how. Then, about a year ago, while going through some of my mum's crafting supplies, I found a rug she had started making. I didn't think much of it at the time, but recently it suddenly clicked: "Wait... this is exactly the kind of rug I wanted to make!" So I picked up a second-hand duvet cover. I loved the color but not the pattern, making it the perfect upcycling project. I cut it into 3 cm wide fabric strips, tied them together, and slowly turned it into a round Amish knot rug (also known as a rag rug) that's almost 70 cm (27.5 inches) in diameter. This video is set up as a step-by-step tutorial, so if you've ever wanted to try making your own rag rug, I'd love for you to craft along with me! Now I'm wondering... if this technique works so well for a rug, would it also make a beautiful basket?
