Royal Enfield Bob McIntyre Thruxton 700 Super Meteor test ride.
This machine was ridden by Bob McIntyre in the 1958 Thruxton 500 mile race and was placed second to the Triumph 650 T110 ridden by Mike Hailwood, only due to being held up when the fuel tank split. Once back in the race, it was lapping faster than the Triumph, but there were just not enough laps left for a win. R.E. experts will notice a 'Constellation' type engine - this was an unstamped, pre production item, put into this machine, probably in anticipation of the new machine's imminent debut.
