The Story of Prophet David Eps. 2 (The Miracle of Prophet David, Iron Becoming Soft and the Book of Psalms) - Epic Story Prophet David ‘alaihissalam was given many privileges by Allahﷻ. Allahﷻ said, وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ مِنَّا فَضْلًا “And indeed, We gave David grace from Us.” (QS. Saba’: 10) What advantages did Allahﷻ grant to Prophet David ‘alaihissalam? Allah ﷻ said, اصْسِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ "Be patient (Muhammad) for what they say; and remember Our servant David who has strength; indeed he is very obedient (to God)." (QS. Shad: 17) In all his activities, Prophet Daud 'alaihissalam is said to always remember Allah. Even in his sadness, he always remembers Allah ﷻ. In fact, when he disobeys, he immediately returns to Allah ﷻ. This is the main characteristic of Prophet Daud 'alaihissalam, which is that he has strength and always returns to God). Then Allah said, Indeed, We have subjected the mountains to glorify Him with them in the evening and the sunrise “Indeed, We have subjected the mountains to glorify Him with them in the evening and the morning.” (QS. Shad: 18) Allah informed us that when Prophet David (peace be upon him) was remembering Him in the morning and evening, the mountains glorified Him with him. As for how the mountains glorified Him, no one knew except Prophet David (peace be upon him). Allah ﷻ said, تَُبِّحُ لَهُ السَّاوَاتُ السَّعْعُْ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَإِنْ مِنْ شيءٍ إِلَّ يُُِّحُ بِحَمْدِِ وَلَكِنْ لَا تَفْفَقُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا "The seven heavens, the earth and all that is in them glorify God. And there is nothing but glorification by praising Him, but you do not understand their glorification. Indeed, He is Most Compassionate and Most Forgiving." (QS. Al-Isra’: 44) However, Prophet David ‘alaihis-salam knew, because Allahﷻ informed him that the mountains glorified Him with him. Then Allahﷻ said, وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوَّابٌ “And (We also subjected) the birds in a gathered state, each one very obedient (to Allah).” (QS. Shad: 19) When Prophet David ‘alaihis-salam remembered Allah in the morning and evening, the birds also came and gathered with Prophet David ‘alaihis-salam to join in the morning and evening remembrance. When Prophet David ‘alaihis-salam read the book of Zabur, the birds would also come to listen to the recitation of Prophet David ‘alaihis-salam. Some say that the birds came because of the beauty of his voice.
