Two Ways to Inject Testosterone for Men: IM vs SubQ – Which is Better? | Dr. Nate Ward

Dr. Nate Ward, Medical Director at HRMN Health, explains the two different ways men can inject testosterone and why one may be significantly better than the other. In this video, Dr. Ward compares: • Traditional Intramuscular (IM) injections – using a larger 23 gauge 1.5 inch needle into the muscle (deltoid or glute) • Subcutaneous (SubQ) injections – using a much smaller 27 gauge ½ inch needle into the fat Key Advantages of SubQ (Fat) Injections: • Smoother testosterone levels with less spikes and crashes • Reduced conversion of testosterone into estrogen • Lower risk of increased red blood cell production (polycythemia) • Much better tolerated and more comfortable A study mentioned showed that after trying both methods, all 22 men preferred and continued with the subcutaneous (fat) injections.
