Shai-Osudoku District Assembly Launches Mechanized Billing System to enhance Accountability
Shai-Osudoku District Assembly Introduces Mechanised Billing System to Enhance Transparency in Revenue Collection and Service Delivery. The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly has introduced a Mechanised Billing System, a major initiative aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and accountability in revenue collection and service delivery across the district. The new system was officially unveiled during a press briefing held at the District Assembly in Dodowa on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The initiative forms part of the Assembly's efforts to strengthen revenue mobilization, eliminate leakages, and improve the quality of services delivered to residents. Addressing the media, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ignatius Godfred Dordoe, explained that the mechanised billing system will replace the Assembly's old billing and revenue collection methods, which have over the years presented challenges in monitoring and accountability. According to him, the introduction of the digitalized system will ensure greater transparency in revenue collection by providing accurate records and reducing opportunities for revenue losses. He emphasized that the Assembly is committed to adopting modern technology to improve governance and accelerate development within the district. Hon. Dordoe noted that the system will help seal revenue leakages and enable the Assembly to generate more internally generated funds to undertake critical development projects and improve service delivery. He expressed confidence that the mechanised billing system would significantly boost the Assembly's revenue performance and disclosed that the Assembly is targeting to generate between GH¢8 million and GH¢10 million in revenue by the end of the year. The District Chief Executive further called on residents, businesses, and ratepayers to cooperate with Assembly officials and embrace the new system, stressing that the revenue generated would be used to support infrastructure development and improve the living conditions of people in the district.
