The 2nd Cavalry Regiment, "Toujours Pret" - History Behind the Patch
The 2nd Cavalry can trace its lineage back to the early part of the 19th century. They’ve been named Dragoons, Armored Cavalry, and Stryker Cavalry. This is a summary history of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, also know as the "Second Dragoons." The 2nd SCR has a stellar history of service in the Indian Wars, the Civil War, WWI, WW2, the Cold War, Operation Desert Storm, Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom).
