Here, I show you how to work with the binary blues using a simple eighth-note rhythm with minimal theory, focusing on feeling the pulse with the three chords. This is a minor blues scale, and I explain why it's so popular worldwide. This application of the blues scale is not only highly educational but also extremely fun. We also review the 12 bars, but this time with four-note or seventh chords, and I demonstrate the chord construction and their open positions. In this video, I also show you how to hear the blues note in the minor blues scale and how you can use it to create your own phrases.
