Kossowscy nie gonią za hektarami. Inwestują w krowy, marzeniem Fendt

Paulina and Łukasz Kossowski run their farm in Nur, a village on the border of Mazovia and Podlasie. This young couple has been developing their family dairy farm for years. Today, they farm approximately 90 hectares, raising 110 dairy cows and producing nearly 90,000 liters of milk per month. As they emphasize, they have never been focused on expanding their acreage at all costs. "We're not under pressure to expand our farmland. We wanted to build a feed base for our target herd, and we've more or less achieved that. Take it easy, take small steps, a little at a time," says Łukasz Kossowski. It all started with... a message on Messenger. They were both studying in Warsaw, but Łukasz decided to reach out to Paulina. She admits that it was he who convinced her to return to the countryside. "I don't regret it. I feel fulfilled with my husband. He sparked my passion for cattle breeding and developing our farm," the farmer emphasizes. After getting married, Łukasz began farming independently practically from scratch. "We started with four hectares," he notes. Over the next eleven years, they bought more plots of land and expanded production. Today, the farm operates in two locations. The second branch was established after Paulina's parents stopped producing milk. "We decided it would be a sin to leave it empty," says Kossowski. Family plays a huge role here. Łukasz's parents still help run the farm, and Paulina and Łukasz hope that one day their children will also find their way in agriculture. One of the topics of our conversation is automation. Two robots work in the barn – a Euromilk Lizard, responsible for pushing feed, and a Lely robot for cleaning the floor. As the farmer admits, this is just the beginning of the changes. "Labor is becoming increasingly difficult. We want to remain a family farm, so we know that in the future we will move into milking robots. That's the right direction," he says. Łukasz also discusses why he chose a robot from the Polish company Euromilk and how it stands out from other solutions available on the market. He also shows his daily work, controlling the device via an app, and why – as he jokes – these days, he only uses forks "after a better party." In the video, we discuss milk production, cooperation with Mlekovita, lease costs, growing crops on class IV-VI soils, loans, machinery, and plans for the coming years. We also discuss dreams. "My biggest dream is to pick up a new Fendt from Agrotechnika. For now, however, there are other priorities. We're focusing on what really makes money," admits the KOSA TV channel host.
