Praia de Mira is a Portuguese village and seat of the Parish of Praia de Mira in the Municipality of Mira. The parish of Praia de Mira has 39.82 km² and 3,246 inhabitants (2021 census), and thus a population density of 81.5 inhabitants/km², and in summer its population triples. Located in the central region, it is one of the most popular and well-known tourist destinations. The parish of Praia de Mira was created in 1984. In turn, in 1951, the village of Palheiros da Costa de Mira became known as Praia de Mira. This village was elevated to the status of town in 1995.
