Flushing out a well - Clean a well by blowing it out
I just moved into an old farmhouse estate that had been siting for a while and the well had not been used. If a well is not constantly used it can be prone to bacteria and other contaminants that build up. The company told me the best thing you can do if you have a well is to run it, a lot. The more water used the better to keep things moving. We tried to chlorinate the well first with no success. This video shows the process of blowing out a well, or flushing a well. This helps to remove things like manganese, iron, lime and other containments.
