10:1 Ask the LORD, the LORD who makes the clouds, for rain when the spring rain comes. He will send showers upon the multitude and give vegetables of the field to each person. 10:2 The teraphim speak vain things, and the diviner sees untrue things and speaks false dreams; their comfort is vain. Therefore, the people wander like sheep, and are distressed because they have no shepherd. 10:3 I will be angry with the shepherds, and I will punish the male goats. The LORD of hosts will care for the multitude, the house of Judah, and make them like warhorses. 10:4 From him will come the cornerstone, the stake, the bow of war; from him all the rulers. 10:5 When they fight, they will trample their enemies in the mud of the streets like warriors. The LORD is with them, and they will fight and put to shame the riders. 10:6 I will strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will have mercy on them and bring them back; they will return to the things I abandoned "It will be as if it never existed. I am the LORD their God; I will hear them." 10:7 Ephraim will be like a mighty warrior, and his heart will rejoice as he drinks wine; his descendants will see and rejoice, and their hearts will be glad in the LORD.
