The meeting resolved to strengthen inter-state coordination, expedite the resolution of pending issues and ensure the effective implementation of development programmes across the eastern region. A total of 74 agenda items were discussed, including 12 pending issues, 61 new agenda items and one item on best practices adopted by participating states. Key discussions focused on inter-state water disputes, flood management, infrastructure development, railway projects, rehabilitation and resettlement, compensation, mining in ecologically sensitive areas, human-elephant conflict management, cyber security, digital infrastructure, telecom connectivity, banking access in unbanked villages and the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes. The Subarnarekha Multipurpose Project, recurring floods affecting Odisha and Jharkhand, and telecom connectivity challenges in Odisha also received detailed attention.
