RIPOLL | LA CUNA DE CATALUÑA #13

🚐🏴‍☠️ We arrive at our last stop with the Gummivan in 2021, in Ripoll. 📍 It is the capital of the Ripollés region, in the province of Girona. It is located at an altitude of 691 meters, between the Ter and Freser rivers, and has almost 11,000 inhabitants. 🅿️ The motorhome area is located in Can Guetes, next to the car park and a cafeteria of the same name. It only has 5 spaces and offers a water emptying and filling service. Overnight stays are free for 24 hours only. N 42° 12' 9" E 2° 11' 37" (lat lng) 🏘️ During our stay, we were able to wander through the town's historic center and visit the ethnographic museum, where a pocket sundial is on display. ⛪️ And to top it all off, the legendary Monastery of Santa María. Built by Guifré el Pilós at the end of the 9th century, it is Romanesque in style. It was built in stages until it became a large architectural complex, but currently only the 11th-century portico, where you can see several passages from the Bible, and the cloister remain.
