Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, accompanied by Major General Abdullah Abdel Aziz, Governor of Beni Suef, conducted an extensive field tour on Sunday, June 21, 2026, visiting several major industrial complexes in the Bayad Al-Arab Industrial Zone and the Medium Industries Zone on the east bank of the Nile. This visit is part of the Minister's ongoing field tours to monitor investment and production projects, explore expansion opportunities, and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian industry in global markets. The tour was attended by Mr. Bilal Habash, Deputy Governor of Beni Suef; Engineer Ahmed Abdel Gaber, Head of the New Beni Suef City Authority; Member of Parliament Heba Abdel Azim; and Senator Nader Nassim. The tour began with an inspection of the Rock Steel Company for Metal Industries factory, which occupies a total area of ​​35,000 square meters across the two zones. The Minister and the Governor visited the company's Bayad Al-Arab plant (which covers 10,000 square meters). They listened to a detailed presentation from Eng. Magdy Fayek Habib, Chairman of the Board, and Dr. Mohamed Tarek Ali, Factory Manager, about the steel pipe production lines of various types and sizes. The factory's actual production capacity reaches 160,000 tons annually (compared to a book capacity of 40,000 tons in the industrial registry). The factory relies on 100% local components, utilizing raw materials from Ezz Steel Dekheila, and provides 82 direct job opportunities. The tour also included a visit to the Emesa Denim Ready-Made Garments factory, where they were received by Eng. Anis Trabelsi, Chairman of the Board. The factory covers an area of ​​10,000 square meters, with investments reaching €25 million, and a production capacity of one million pieces annually, with 90% local components. The officials inspected the sewing, laser, and packaging production lines at the factory, which is distinguished by directing 100% of its production towards exports to major European markets (Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands), with exports valued at €20 million annually. The factory provides 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. The tour concluded with a visit to the Angel Yeast Egypt Food Industries factory, considered the largest yeast production plant in the Middle East. It occupies 123,000 square meters of the total project area of ​​154,200 square meters, with ongoing expansions covering an additional 30,500 square meters. The Minister and the Governor were received by Mr. Liu Jun, General Manager; Mr. Ahmed Bashir, Administrative Manager; and Eng. Amr Fouad, Executive Director. The project has a capital of $250 million and an annual production capacity of 254,900 tons (including 60,000 tons of dry yeast and 20,000 tons of yeast extract), with a local component ranging between 90% and 95%. The company exports 85% of its production to 79 countries worldwide (including France, Germany, the United States, and Saudi Arabia), with exports valued at $160 million annually out of total sales of $187 million. The factory provides 1,200 job opportunities. For his part, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem affirmed that the ministry is currently focused on supporting existing factories, increasing their production capacities, and enhancing their access to foreign markets. He noted that the ongoing expansions reflect investor confidence in the Egyptian investment climate. The minister added that the tour revealed successful industrial models that have been able to rely on high percentages of local components and deepen national industry. Meanwhile, Major General Abdullah Abdel Aziz, Governor of Beni Suef, emphasized that the governorate prioritizes supporting the industrial sector as the primary driver of development and job creation. He explained that Beni Suef is fully coordinating with relevant authorities to create an attractive investment climate and provide the necessary facilitations to remove any obstacles facing investors, thus serving the state's plans to increase exports and enhance the competitiveness of local products.
