Experimental SWR meter on 27 MHz (schematic)
A pure experimental schematic (though tested in approx. 1995 and it works) from a standing wave reflection meter on 27 MHz. On a wire inside a closed metal box inserted into the antenna (coax cable) wire a signal is tapped out via a Germanium diode. This signal consists of reflected RF energy and transmitted RF energy (as far as I know). Somewhere on the wire in the shielded box the reflected energy is measured, the position on the wire to where the Germanium detection diode is soldered matters. More electronics in my books, on the Lulu website (by the way: no transmitter circuits), author Ko Tilman.
