Electric Balance Bike Racing: it went WRONG 😫

Being invited to ride in the Arenacross Amped electric balance bike version of the huge motocross race for the 100th edition of the UK Arenacross race series in Manchester was such an experience!!!! A group of 10 riders took to the track - all 5-6 years old. Some having never ridden on the amped bike before (Harley included!) Due to his age, when he is told it's important he listens. He was told to ride careful, take it nice and slow... and his practice laps were just that. Careful and painfully slow for what he could have done 🫠🥴 The conversation after was hard - after watching your able rider cruise around the entire race practise - to the point he was lapped by a number of riders... it's hard to understand what goes through their heads. For those with little riders who just don't have that competitive bug yet - I feel your pain. Harley just hasn't typically got the hunger to 'go for it' in a race... but will typically switch it on in practise. Over dinner Harley declared he wanted to do well... and he went out to the race HUNGRY. I've never seen him trying to get his bike to the front of a queue before. He wanted to walk his own bike out, didn't want help. He set his own bike in a gate lane that he chose for himself. When the announcer said his name he proudly threw his hands in the air... he was ready. He watched that flag like a hawk. It moved and he leapt into action! He was first to move off the start!!! Then disaster struck. Will Harley get the hang of racing in 2025? #electricbike #ebike #arenacross #onealriders #bikerace
