Thierry Devimeux, préfet de la région Guadeloupe, s’est rendu à Baillif.
On Friday, May 22, 2026, Thierry Devimeux, Prefect of the Guadeloupe region, visited Baillif as part of the "Engagements Quartiers 2030" urban development contract. He was accompanied by the mayor, Marie-Yveline Théobald-Ponchateau, and the president of Grand Sud Caraïbes, Thierry Abelli. The program included a walk through the heart of priority neighborhoods, beginning at the fishing port of "La Madeleine" in the town center. The goal was to meet with residents to better understand their realities, their expectations, and the local development challenges. The visit continued in the Cadet neighborhood, at the "Ravine des Corsaires" social housing complex, and then at the Robert Promeneur sports field. These discussions highlighted the ongoing commitment of the municipality and its institutional partners to improving the daily lives of residents. Driven by listening, goodwill, and dialogue, this day was warmly welcomed by local residents, delighted to see their neighborhoods highlighted and their concerns addressed. It also illustrates the determination of local authorities and stakeholders to proudly pursue initiatives promoting development and social cohesion.
