Time and again, we see God's people sinking into sins such as idolatry, prostitution, and the desecration of religious institutions... As we already discussed in our video about Jephthah, this was a time of great moral and spiritual decline for Israel. The repeated epigraph, "In those days there was no king in Israel," shows that the people not only lacked a king, but that they did not recognize YHWH as their king. In the Book of Kings, when a people has a king, these kings lead the people to sin. Judges shows us that the people didn't need a king to sink into sin. Another well-known maxim, "And they did what seemed right in their own eyes," shows how the wickedness of sin in the human heart can lead to unimaginable acts. The forgetting of the Law and the ignorance of the Lord are the reasons for all this misfortune. When human beings forget God, they follow their own desires, and in doing so they lose more and more of their humanity, and in this loss, women suffer the most. The narrative in Judges 19, which tells the story of an Ephraimite Levite and his concubine, is unsettling and culminates in an atrocity and subsequently a war between the tribes. ----- VISIT THE WEBSITE: https://doisdedosdeteologia.com ----- OUR SOCIAL MEDIA Twitter:   / doisdedosdeteo   Facebook:   / doisdedosdeteologia   Instagram:   / doisdedosdeteologia   CHANNEL PLAYLISTS TWO FINGERS OF THEOLOGY:    • DOIS DEDOS DE TEOLOGIA   DROPS:    • #DROPS   PODCAST:    • BAIXO CLERO - o podcast de conversas pasto...   BY TOPICS: https://www.youtube.com/user/doisdedo...
