This section describes the repair of a Brose T-Alu e-bike motor that had defective bearings, freewheels, and a broken crankshaft. To make matters worse, the customer had opened the motor himself and unnecessarily removed the cover on the non-drive side, along with the electronics underneath. We fitted the motor with a new crankshaft, new bearings, and new freewheels, and made it ready for use again. At the same time, we gave the motor an upgrade: We installed freewheels with metal cages (which last longer) and a seal over the needle bearing in the torque sleeve to better protect it from moisture in the future. ...
