The term is being used more and more frequently to stifle criticism of Islam or Islamist organizations. In the podcast "The Black Channel," Fleischhauer describes the experiences of Berlin's Integration Commissioner, Güner Balci. Anyone who criticizes, for example, state funding for organizations with ties to Islamists often receives the same response: "Then it's: anti-Muslim racism. That's the shield being erected." Fleischhauer explicitly emphasizes that hostility towards Muslims should not be downplayed. "Every insult is one insult too many." At the same time, the real danger is being overlooked. The security situation of Jewish institutions in Germany is significantly more precarious: "There isn't a single mosque in Germany that can only be visited with police protection." In his view, the source of the greatest threat to Jews today is also frequently ignored. Referring to his son's Jewish school, he says: "It's not the skinheads people are afraid of right now. It's these lunatics, either from the hardcore left-wing scene that has allied itself with the Muslim Brotherhood, or equally deranged Islamists and pro-Palestinian groups." His conclusion is clear: "I consider all this talk and chatter about anti-Muslim racism an attempt to distract from or prevent us from even discussing certain facts, such as hardcore antisemitism."
