Indonesia's Neighbor Becomes New US Logistics Base to Counter China's Influence in the Region TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM - The US military is reportedly planning to build a massive weapons depot on Australia's southeast coast. This move is being taken to secure Washington's military logistics. The placement of military logistics in this region is beyond the reach of most Chinese ballistic missiles. A US Navy document was leaked this month and later confirmed by several authorized officials. The document reportedly allocated US$30 million (approximately Rp 531 billion) for the project. This was also confirmed by a spokesperson for US Marine Corps Pacific Forces. Before the depot's completion, US weapons and military equipment will be stationed in Melbourne. These weapons and military equipment are expected to be moved to a new depot at Bandiana Military Base, Victoria. The facility is targeted to reach full capacity in 2028. Meanwhile, the development of this weapons supply chain makes history as the first US military logistics facility on Australian soil.
