A controversial, risqué take on Aladdin’s tale? 🫣 I say why not (purely for entertainment purposes) I’ve noticed that plot rewrites have become particularly popular lately, and, since I myself am a huge fan of alternate universes and ships, I let my creativity loose to satisfy my desire for brand new unexpected twists and pairings. 🌈 Tonight I’m presenting to you an Aladdin’s AU where Jasmine willingly ends up with Jafar. 🧞‍♂️ Story: Jasmine had never been interested in rich princes that her father wanted her to marry. She found them arrogant, narrow-minded, conceited, and self-absorbed. Being all about bragging and not actions. Plus, she grew extremely bored inside her palace, longing for variety more than anything else. So when she met Aladdin and saw his intrepid, adventurous personality she immediately became enamoured with the young thief. What she did not notice at first, however, was that he was a lazy slacker and a compulsive liar. As the story goes, after the carpet ride she begged him to finally tell her the truth, but he preferred to stay in his comfy web of lies. However, Jasmine wasn’t the only one to see through Ali’s disguise. Jafar also recognized the sneaky boy, and when Jasmine announced her decision to marry Ali the prudent sorcerer revealed the whole truth to her in hopes of delaying the marriage and retaining the chance to become the Sultan himself one day. The princess was heartbroken and disappointed. She never forgave Aladdin for that deceit. But this bitter revelation also made Jasmine see Jafar in a different light. She’d always thought of him as of a slow-paced strict counsellor, but now she discovered that he also had an ambitious determined side to him and a quick mind. Unlike any suitor she’d been introduced to before… Jasmine tricked Aladdin and stole the lamp for Jafar. Together they began to rule over Agrabah: the sorcerer and his mistress. Jafar would conjure anything Jasmine would ask for in exchange for her loyalty, opening a «whole new world» of magic and power to her.
