Saturn's one wish was that Jupiter would open up to her. That her partner would confide with her. It pains her to see Jupiter having another one of his panic attacks. Saturn feels as though their was a huge wall between them, a wall so thick and so high that she couldn't reach him. It was as if Jupiter was pushing her away, afraid to become more attached than he already is, and then lose those he holds dear. But Saturn has always been the stubborn one. Always the daring one. "Look around, look around." Saturn rests her hand on her partners shoulder gently. "Look at where you are. Look at where you started." Saturn made a move to gesture behind them, trying to show him the Solar System, their home. And all its glorious and gruesome history. She locked eyes with Jupiter, and her core softened. "The fact that you're alive is a miracle." The hand on Jupiter's shoulder tightened slightly. "Just stay alive." Saturn says, almost like a plea. "That would be enough." She held both of his hands in hers, caressing them gently. "I don't pretend to know the challenges you're facing," carefully, she reached a hand to cup his cheek. "The worlds you keep erasing and creating in your mind." She watched as Jupiter made an expression similar to guilt... and grief. Her core clenches at his pained face. All she wants to do is wipe that sorrow away. "But I'm not afraid." Retracting her hand from his cheek, she puts them on top of his. "I know who I married." Jupiter sucked in a breath, his eyes wide, as if in disbelief. Saturn's eyes soften, and his vulnerability ignites her protectiveness. She knew Jupiter always thought he did not deserve to be with her. Does not deserve to be happy... because of his crimes. That was a mentality that Saturn wishes to erase from his mind. He was more than deserving of happiness. He's made mistakes, yes. Saturn did as well. They were each other's alibi. They knew the weight of their sins. But that doesn't mean they should be stuck forever in the past. They can change. And change they did. "So long as you come home at the end of the day..." She moves closer to him, resting her head on his chest. She listens to his core beating rhythmically. Her core beats the same. "That would be enough." She repeats her words. Wanting her partner to realize that being in the present is enough. The past can not be changed, and the future is unknown, but the present is real. It is enough. She let their eyes meet as she looked up. "We don't need a 'legacy'." Gently and softly, she spoke, "We don't need 'acknowledgment'." Yes. They've needed neither of those things. A legacy is merely a simple promise, a remembrance. But not everyone can remember. Not everyone can leave a legacy. And they don't need one. Just the two of them are enough. Acknowledgment? The Sun is merely a silent observer, only speaking when his planets have gone outside of their orbits. The Rocky planest are wary of them. Their relationship with the Ice Giants have become strained over the years. But who cares? Who cares what they think? The only acknowledgment Saturn wants is Jupiter's. She wants her partner to acknowledge her, not just as a friend or an alibi, or a shoulder to lean on. But as the other half of his soul. "If I could grant you peace of mind," she says, desperately trying to break through the wall between them. "If you could let me inside your heart." "Oh, let me be a part of the narrative in the story they will write someday." She could see in in his eyes the way they dilated as if he was considering it. She was close to reaching him. So close to break down the wall. "Let this moment be the first chapter—" Saturn lets go of his hands. She twirls around, letting gravity do all the work, her arms outstretched towards him. "Where you decide to stay." Jupiter stood frozen in his place, taking in the sight of his beloved as she was illuminated by the Sun. Her rings shine a golden light, but her eyes. Her beautiful eyes, golden yet glows a red hue. Her gentle smile, her soft touch. "And 'I' could be enough." You have always been enough. Is what Jupiter wanted to say, but words are cheap, and he couldn't find the right ones to say either. Instead, he extended his hand towards her, waiting for her to accept it. Just as she did billions of years ago. "And 'we' could be enough." We are enough. Saturn emphasized. Holding his hand firmly, still maintaining her smile. She looked into her beloved's eyes with joy and love. "That would be enough." Finally, the wall crumbled. Finally, Jupiter opened up. Finally, Saturn could be enough.
