Cold-Case «Kristallhöhlenmord»: Mord soll nicht mehr verjähren | True Crime Schweiz Podcast | SRF
Should murder be subject to a statute of limitations – or not? Two teenagers disappear on a bike tour; months later, their bodies are discovered. What happened remains a mystery – the case is closed, but the region finds no peace. Now the National Council has decided: Murder should no longer be subject to a statute of limitations. _____________________________________________ 🔔 Subscribe to SRF Documentaries & Reports on YouTube now https://www.youtube.com/srfdok?sub_co... 👉 Do you have feedback or questions? Their bikes, still with their luggage, are found by the roadside, near the Kobelwald Crystal Cave. Despite a large-scale police search involving dogs and diving equipment, the young women remained missing. It wasn't until nine weeks later that the bodies of the 15- and 17-year-old girls were found in difficult-to-access terrain. Who killed them and what their motive remains a mystery to this day. Currently, murder in Switzerland has a statute of limitations of 30 years – the Crystal Cave murder thus remains a cold case. However, the ongoing shock in the region has prompted the National Council to address the issue of the statute of limitations for murder. In the future, murder will be made permanent, and intentional homicide will be subject to a 30-year statute of limitations. This offers hope for other unsolved crimes.
