Tearing Down a 1971 Honda CB750 K1 to the Bare Frame

1971 Honda CB750 K1 complete frame disassembly as part of my full restoration project. In this video I tear the bike down to the bare frame, removing the front end, swingarm, suspension, controls, brackets, and anything bolted to the frame in preparation for powder coating in semi-gloss black. This CB750 K1 is being restored back to factory-correct, stock condition. Follow along as I document the entire restoration process from teardown to final assembly and riding. Tools, techniques, and mistakes included along the way for anyone restoring a vintage Honda SOHC CB750. Mistakes I made in this video: 1. Don't use a flat head screwdriver to lift the triple tree off the steering stem. I ended up denting the steering stem nut under the triple tree. Luckily these are replaceable as NOS. A new one is on the way. 2. If you notice in the video when the forks were removed, the center stand closed and the bike slammed onto the rubber mat beneath. There was no damage. The engine didn't take any direct force, as the underside frame rails were below the lowest point of the engine. Next time, I would have rested the bike on the fame belly after removing the wheel, then remove the forks. #HondaCB750 #CB750K1 #VintageHonda #MotorcycleRestoration #SOHC4 #HondaRestoration #CB750 #VintageMotorcycle
