Continuing my tour of Austria, in the second episode of the series, I head through the Wachau Valley, leaving Dürnstein and heading to Melk. On the way, I take the opportunity to taste apricots straight from the tree in a region rich in the production of this fruit. And I even take some with me for a snack on this trip with incredible views and a feeling that is hard to describe. Despite its small size, Melk has one of the greatest treasures in Europe: the Stift Melk, a monastery from 1089 that is simply impressive. I show you the library there, a true art exhibition, both for the books in the collection and the paintings on the ceiling. The place also has a museum with pieces directly related to the monastery. But my words will not do justice to the beauty of the abbey and the gardens of this place; you will have to watch the video to draw your own conclusions.
