"U.S. Route 101, de Seattle à la Californie" un film de Pierre Brouwers

US Route 101, or Highway 101, connects Seattle to Los Angeles. It offers a vast view of the Pacific Ocean, hugging the coastline for nearly 2,500 km. In Washington State, it winds through immense forests crisscrossed by rivers and passes spectacular natural sites like Mount Rainier, its summit capped with snow. In Oregon, Multnomah Falls, a symbol of the state, plunges nearly 200 meters into the Columbia River. Along the coast, sea lions are everywhere, spending much of their time... sleeping. Except at Thor's Well, an astonishing sinkhole that seems to suck in the sea only to spit it out again! Further south, monumental sand dunes serve as a playground for unusual surfers and specially adapted vehicles. In California, giant sequoias put humans in their place, dominating vast forests for hundreds of years where you can drive (and even pass through hollow trees) or enjoy exciting hikes. The sequoia, or "redwood" in English, was an exceptional material for building Victorian houses. The small town of Eureka, with its dozens of elegant homes, is a magnificent testament to this. Documentary film seen on France 5!
