ZS6BKW Antenna Review: My Review After 1000 QSOs
#hamradio #zs6bkw #hfantenna The ZS6BKW dipole is a popular antenna for HF -- and not without good reason. It's a modified version of the G5RV, only better. The ZS6BKW antenna features better efficiency and theoretical gain while giving you resonance on 5 bands. That's right you can use this antenna on 5 HF bands without a tuner! I've been able to work more than 1000 contacts in just four weeks on this antenna at 50'. Not only that, 35 countries across the world from Japan, to South Africa to many European contacts. The ZS6BKW is not the best antenna you can put up. It's a compromise, but it's a damn good compromise. As we get deeper into Solar Cycle 25 you'll be able to work the world on a wet noodle, including the ZS6BKW! I strongly recommend this wire dipole to any ham radio operator looking for a reasonably sized antenna that will give you acceptable multiband performance. Put this up and work the world -- just like me! Here are the specifications: Length of the antenna overall: 93 feet Length of the ladder line (minimum height needed for efficient use): 41 feet *1:1 current balun recommended to keep coax for radiating.
