Developed with an investment of nearly ₹79,459 crore, the mega project is expected to transform the state's economy and strengthen India's energy security. The HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited refinery is India's first integrated refinery-petrochemical complex. It will process crude oil from the Mangala oil fields of Barmer and significantly enhance domestic production of petroleum products and petrochemicals. The project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities while accelerating industrial development in western Rajasthan. With the proposed Plastic Park and downstream petrochemical industries, the refinery is likely to become a catalyst for new investments, manufacturing, and economic growth.
