Today we are going to paint an unusual Venice. When we do a cityscape, it's usually about perspective and buildings. We care about the construction, we care about how to explain distance and space. But when we move on to night painting, it is mainly just about the parts of light and shadow. It's just a small street, and it was not far from my house that we rented when I was in Venice for a couple of weeks. So there's nothing special about this street except spots of light and shadow. That's what we're going to try to organize, and it's really going to look like an abstract painting. Let's go!
