Ep. 210 Turtle Release Sept '25

Ep. 210 Turtle Release Sept '25. Right after we finished our turtle training, the Curacao Turtle Conservation group did a big turtle release of 19 turtles that they had rescued earlier in the spring. In one of the bays on the Southside of the island there was a large accumulation of sarcasm (seaweed) that was prohibition the young turtles from being able to swim down and feed because it was so thick . they were stuck in it or on it. They were all suffering from poor nutrition not only because of the seaweed but in general that bay is dirty and the food sources have been contaminated. The turtles lived at the aquarium for 6 months or so while being provided a better diet to help strengthen their immune system. We were not expecting to be so hands on for this event, but luckily we were able to have a turtle of our own to mange through the release. It was an amazing experience !!
