New York 2005

This film is a time capsule. The images were recorded during two short visits to New York in 2004 and 2005. They preserve the city as it existed at that moment in time — its streets and storefronts, its skyline in transition, its construction sites rising between older buildings. What appears ordinary in the frame has since become history. Together, these images form a portrait of New York at the beginning of the 21st century — a city still reshaping itself, carrying both the weight of its past and the outline of what was yet to come.
